A Brief History:
St. Peter’s Church, Akbarpur had seven shops on the main road, rented out. Monthly collection of the rent was difficult as the shopkeepers were not friendly. After studying the pros and cons of the local situation and having consulted several people, a proposal was put forth before the Bishop, Rt. Rev. Baptist Mudartha, Bishop of Allahabad, to sell those shops to the shopkeepers and utilize the amount to put up an English Medium School. The whole of Akbarpur was happy at this proposal who promised to stand by, support and cooperate as this would be the first English Medium School of Akbarpur.

Rt. Rev. Baptist Mudartha having consulted his consulters was quick to decide to sanction the project i.e. to sell the shops and go ahead with construction of the school building. In the meantime, permission was also granted in February 1984 to begin the school formally in the Church building which was idle, then.

St. Peter’s School, Akbarpur, was formally inaugurated on 02.04.1984 at 10.00 am in the presence of the following dignitaries:
1)  Rt. Rev. Baptist Mudartha, Bishop of Allahabad
2)  Sr. Philomena Rego, President of the Society of the Maids of the Poor
3)  Mr. Kanhaiyalal Srivastava, Munsif Magistrate of Akbarpur
4)  Mr. Tarakant Tripathi, Advocate and a well wisher
5)  Fr. Fredrick D’Souza, Assistant Parish Priest
6)  Sr. Veronica D’Souza, M.O.P. Local Animator
7)  Sr. Veronica D’Souza, M.O.P. Local Animator

In the first batch, there were 50 students, hailing from different backgrounds, all from the township itself. In the meantime the seven shops were sold to the shopkeepers and the amount was utilized for the construction of the school building. The construction of the school building began on 24th April 1984.

The first annual function of the school was held in March 1985 which was greatly appreciated by one and all. On this occasion, the hard work of the Fathers: Fr. D. Kamath, Fr. Mark Vincent, Fr. Lawrence D’Mello, Fr. Ignatius D’Souza, Fr. Frederick D’Souza and many more- on whose foundation, the Kingdom of God was established and sustained, were remembered.
