Nursing Profession:
Nursing as a profession is dedicated and devoted to the service of mankind and is rightly regarded as the noblest of all the professions. Nazareth Hospital School of Nursing was started to motivate young girls of UP and other parts of the country in the noble profession of nursing. Besides helping them to stand on their feet, it equips them with a profession which will meet the need for Trained Nurses.

The curriculum designed for the course will help the students to develop physical, mental, spiritual and professional qualities to be a good nurse and a good citizen. It is based in sound educational principles which will enable the students to gain scientific knowledge and skill for comprehensive nursing care in the hospital and in community. This programme will assist the students in their personal and professional growth.

Our community health nursing programme is also going on very actively. We have selected the centre at Phaphamau about 12 villages. Students are having stay programme at Hartmannganj Hospital and doing their house visiting and other studies. Sr.Ushus CSN is the incharge of Community Health Nursing Programme. We are doing the same in urban and rural. For urban we have selected the Pandila at Phaphamau and Chacka block in Allahabad.

So to develop professional competence, a nurse requires a sound and a broad type of education and a thorough knowledge of human nature. The better the scientific background, the safer and more intelligent, will be the care the nurse renders. Needless to mention that average intelligence is required for effective functioning as a professional nurse.

The GNM course encourages the students to bring out their leadership qualities and also challenges them to be more human and sensitive to others’ needs and help them to uphold the dignity and ideals of professional nursing.
